Re: Barcode databases
try looking at www.barpoint.com (I think you might have to register)
or www.upcdatabase.com (which I find has more stuff.)
Obviously you need to be online for those to work, but you might be able to
use them to build up your own database (in a similar way to CDDB, where if
you don't have it, put it in a queue to be looked up next time you connect)
also, www.borders.com has UPC data lookups for books, videos & music.
Let me know how you get on, I got a CueCat in the post the other day, and
one of the things I want to use Misterhouse for is this kind of thing.
