If its a dead line you can disconnect it.

If you cant see the NTE5 it probably doesnt have one. One of the sockets is
probably a master as opposed to secondary. Just disconnect the incoming
line
from that. Assuming everything is connected up as standard, the incoming
line will only be connected to 2 & 5 whereas all other cables will
connect
to 2,3 & 5 at least.
