A little while ago someone asked about Vynal to MP3 conversion... I've
just=
been practicing my Dutch (using a PC mag) and came across the follwing web=
site:

http://www.terratec.net/products.htm

look under Hi-Fi. for a review of the product try

US funkyfresh.com reviews the phonoPreAmp, June 2000 http://www.funkyfresh.=

This is what the TerraTec site says - Hope it helps

TerraTec: New life for ancient vinyl treasures with the phono PreAmp=20
Who's not confronted with the familiar problem of having old vinyl LP'S
som=
ewhere in the attic ?! Actually you'd love to restore and digitise your
all=
time favourites and probably even burn them onto CD's. So far this has bee=
n pretty complicated, but now German sound card manufacturer TerraTec
prese=
nts an easy solution at a more than reasonable price: TerraTec's phono
PreA=
mp is, like the name already indicates, a pre amplifier to work as an
inter=
face between record player and sound card.

Usually restoring or reworking of vinyl longplayers with a PC requires the
=
usage of an HiFi- amplifier, because (analogue) record players and sound
ca=
rds work with using different audiosignals. TerraTec's phono PreAmp now
off=
ers a true alternative. It's not even necessary to open the PC, the phono
P=
reAmp is an external box, perfectly shielded.

Simply connect the record player through the phono PreAmp with the sound
ca=
rd =96 and off you go!=20
No need for a power supply, the energy is already provided by the game
port=
of the sound card. Also, in terms of sound quality, wishes do come true, t=
he phono PreAmp is by far superior to most HiFi- amplifiers.

To optimally adapt the moving magnet pick up of the record player, the
thre=
e commonest input capacities are selectable in steps. And, real power
comes=
from the output amplification, also selectable in three steps. The filter =
function with precision RIAA noise reduction curve guarantees an optimal
pr=
eparation of the pick up signal and thus for perfect listening
pleasures.=20
