If you can be patient I will make some PCB's which should make everything
nice and compact. I am a little behind you though and it will probably be a
week or two (2-3 most likely) before they exist.

As always more info as it happens.

I now have Nigel's IR module working. I completely failed to get it working
with the CY88 (Maplin code) IR LED and so went to get another today, but
Maplin were out of stock. So instead I picked up a YH70 and everything
works
absolutely fine. I have connected the receiver to the transmitter with
about
10 meters of CAT5 (one pair for +12V and ground, the other for receiver
output and ground) and IR signals are sent perfectly. All that remains now
is to solder everything up and put it in a nice box. Many thanks again to
Nigel for all his help over the last couple of weeks. I will put up
pictures
on the site as soon as I get the soldering done.

Regards

Graham

PS. Keith, do you have any more of the TSOP's, if so I'll have another 6.
