Subject: [ukha_d] X10 appliance module mods

Has anyone on the list modified their X10 appliance modules (AM12?) for
local switching, with the switch built into the module? I did one at the
weekend, it's fairly straightforward to do, but I'm having trouble finding
a nice looking plastic mains-rated switch that will fit in the case. I've
currently got a standard push-button in there, but it's got exposed metal
(the mounting nut) and is only 125V rated (I think- it's probably been in
my component boxes for 10 years!)...

It needs to be 10mm or smaller body inside, anything up to 25-30mm long,
the smaller the better, either pushbutton or toggle. I'm looking at Maplin
FG45 (if all else fails!), but if anyone has already found a good switch
for the job, let me know. If no-one else has managed to fit one in the
box, I'll put up drill templates sometime when I've finished- it's really a
very useful mod, electrically simple, but with some mechanical precision
needed (there's not much wasted space in there!)!

And is there a similar mod for the lighting module? The schematics I have
of both only show local switching for the appliance module.

Nigel
