But his problem was that he needed to _decrease_ sensitivity- to detect a
power consumption between standby and on, both of which were enough to make
it see 'on', with only one loop through the coil.

Now I'm supposed to put forward some suggestions about splitting the
current so it doesn't all go through the coil, then Paul will say that he'd
thought of using the headphone output, then you can suggest he uses one of
those mains power consumption coil thingys, then I can point out that we've
gone recursive...

Then you can say you don't like archives, I can suggest splitting the
current...
