Not Quite: ADSL is delivered over the same cable as your telephone
line, so if you get a physical fault it will still wipe out both, but
the ADSL carrier is piggybacked: it uses a higher frequency range than
both your POTS service and ISDN. (despite what BT say on the subject!)
if you ADSL NTU dies, you will still have phone service.

Just as with Home Highway: if the box dies, the line still operates as
a normal phone line. (which is why you should always have a phone
connected to Analog port 1 on your Home Highway box: in the event of a
power failure, you still have a phone service!)
