Hi All,

In this months (September) Everyday Practical Electronics incorporating
Electronics Today International.......
dont you just love snappy names !!!!

...there is a PIC project for an IR decoder using a PIC 16C84 to decode
either Phillips RC5 or Sony SIRC protocols. The project is very much for
experimentation and the software as downloaded simply controls 2 LED's.
There is also extra assembler code and a small VB application to make it
sent the IR code details to a PC.

I built up the basic version last night and in a few minutes added extra
functions to the RC5 code.
The standard functions using a phillips remote (One4All code 037) is
Button 1	LED1 ON	LED2 OFF
Button 2	LED1 OFF	LED2 ON
Button 3	LED1 ON	LED2 ON

I added

Button 0	LED1 OFF	LED2 OFF.

Looks like it has many possibilities. The code is available for download
>from

ftp://ftp.epemag.wimborne.co.uk/pub/PICS/IRdecoder/

Might be of interest to some of you out there.

Keith
