I have a Home Automation system which comprises of a 3 wire bus interfaced
to a PC serial port. Modules are strung onto this bus to perform various
sensing and switching functions. The bus runs at 2,400 baud to which i have
details of the full protocol for the byte sequences and the functions of
the
bits.

These module have become difficult to source. They use PIC chips. I want to
have a go at building my own and i am looking at the BASICX system as i am
more familiar with basic and dont want to learn C.

Can any comment as to weather BasicX and the BX-24 is up to the purpose ?
HAve i made a good choice of what is available ?

Steve.
