This is actually quite common in laptops - all of them have some form of
built-in mouse device - either a "nipple" or a touchpad, and
nearly all of
them also have a PS2 port to use a "proper" mouse. It's almost
always
possible to have both pointing devices enabled at once, so either can be
used...
