Now there's a surprise, I would have expected a PC (especially windows) not
to like having two devices of the same type connected via 2 different
adaptors, because they both use different drivers, neither of which I would
expect to know about the other, I would have expected only one of them to
work.

But there you go, expect the unexpected. :-)
