I've thought about doing this in the past, but never actually tried it.
However, I suspect it might not work with traditional corded PS2 devices,
as
the devices are powered from the PS2 port. However, cordless ones are
self-powered (apart from the receiver obviously!), so there may be a better
possibility of it working with those.???

The other track that I am currently thinking of is to try a USB keyboard.

Like you, I need to have two keyboards on 1 PC, (1 local to the PC, 1 in a
remote location.) the remote one is an IR keyboard, the receiver for which
is connected to the PS2 keyboard port on a 10m extension cable. 99% of the
time, I use that keyboard, but occasionally, I also need to go & sit
& work
on the PC locally, for which I currently have to unplug & replug
keyboard &
mouse cables (no fun). It occurs to me that I should be able to plug a USB
keyboard and mouse in as well as using the PS2 ports.

Scan computers (www.scan.co.uk) frequently advertise a USB keyboard on
their
"today only" page for just £9 (+VAT), so I think I'll probably
try this
soon....

Cheers,

Paul G.
