I tried that. According to the diagram the beam area profile is
'triangular', flat at the top, sloping downwards, so I suppose turning
it upside down makes it worse, but I did try it.
I also tried putting it in sideways because the 'spread' of the beam
(140 degrees) seems much wider than the profile, but my patress box
only had two fixing holes, and was mounted behind tiles and so couldn't
be turned.
But I've taken the floorboards up upstairs and ceiling mounted it. Now
it works fine.
And the good new is the wife thinks all our lights should now be
automatic :-) (How do you do an ear to ear smiley!?)
One last thing I'd like to do with this though is cause the light to
fade. I have already been 'caught out' a couple of times! It's not a
problem, waving suffices, but I'd prefer to get some warning. Can I
fit some sort of capacitance device behind the rose to provide a few
seconds of 'fade'.
