is there a simple external plug in adaptor or similar to allow me to output
my vga signal from my HA PC to either an RCA or SVHS video signal?? All my
PCs have TV out video cards installed but these don't want to work under NT
Server or Terminal Server making them useless. I need something that just
plugs into the monitor plug or similar.

any ideas anyone??

thanks.

- Ryan Judd

Hold that thought. I think I've got a cooked VGA->RGB interface
somewhere.

boxes of "stuff")

Thanks Mark,

See other postings for details of versions.
Estimated price for basic AVR version is around 30-40 per set.

I'm pretty good at repiring Extron RGB Interfaces when they get cooked.
I've done about 20 at work so far. A 50p repair is much cheaper than 300
quid for a new interface :-)

B2B/B2C - Business to Business, Business to Consumer: Terms borrowed from
the "New Economy" to mean "retail without shops" and
"wholesale without
shops" respectively.

What kind of price do you think you could _manufacture_ yours for?
Personally, I love Extron stuff, but I'm just not prepared to commit that
amount of money ;-)

I would answer if I knew what a B2B/B2C was !!!

Taking some of the points raised.......

Market size ?
I dont honestly know. Look how many people arent even aware of SCART
leads
to connect TV & Video together. I believe the market will grow just as
the
HA market is growing.

Existing Products
Several makes of similar products exist now. ( When I built the
first
prototypes I was only aware of one manufacturer and their composite video
product was about 150 quid per box). I pointed someone at Amulet
Electronics the other day, and I notice that major AV companies like Extron
are now launching ranges of CAT5 capable stuff.

The biggest hurdle is just the time to do the work although I am now
determined to get them out there.

Well - I think Keith ought to agree to continuing this discussion first...
