I recently made my 8 year daughter a computer desk with a zero budget.

Left over MDF for the desk in the window bay. A piece of 2x1 and 26 CD's
made a pelmet for the blinds. AOL and Free ISP Cd's arranged randomly on
the
walls. Shiny side out looks great.
