Do you have a phone in each of the two rooms?
If so check if there is a spare pair in the cable. Most BT installed stuff
uses 6 wire and the green/white pair is usually unused. I once utilised it
for an intercom/baby alarm.

DISCLAIMER.....
I didnt really say what I just said :-))

Thanks Keith but it's pretty impracticle to hav all the floor boards up to
get the wire downstairs, as a matter of interest where can u get blasters
from ?

Letsautomate does one that has to be attached to a hub and thats pertty
expensive!

Chris,

Why on earth are you looking at pyramids and the like?

If you want to send IR FROM Homevision TO downstairs you dont need
anything like that. You have the unbeatable Nigel Orr / Keith Doxey
preferred method of transmitting the signal.....a Piece of copper wire !!!

Plug it into the jack on the back of Homevision and fit an IR
emitter/blaster on the other end.
100% reliable, extremely cheap as well.

If however you want to SEND IR TO Homevision or you dont want run a cable
then you will need some sort of repeater, but my (and I suspect Nigel's)
advice would be use a cable :-)

Keith

I am looking for a reliable IR repeater to send IR from my Homevision
(upstairs) to my tv & hi-fi (downstairs)

I havle looked at the 'pyramaids' but I dont know how wide the ir beam is?
.I do not have direct line of sight betwwen the sender and the hi-fi. My
Pronto seems to work fine no matter where I point it and would like the
same power as that .

Anybody any experiences????

Thanks..Chris
