My first thoughts are:

I make a sandbox mould, I use something "rock-shaped" (like a
rock??) to
make an impression it, I pour some concrete into the mould, I use a
slightly
smaller object (like a 99p football...) to press into the wet concrete,
making it hollow - the hollow being of sufficient volume to house my chosen
speaker.

Once set, remove the ball, (or cut it in half, leaving the inside in place
as waterproofing), remove the fake rock from the mould, and apply some
weatherproofing finish to it - Homebase et al have some nifty stuff in the
specialist paint section which looks like a "stone" finish, then
perhaps
some of that fake moss/lichen that model railways use...

For mounting the speaker in it: either fill the hollow with expanding foam,
and set the sealed speaker enclosure into it, leaving the grille exposed
(so
the speaker fires downwards into the ground) - remembering to connect the
wires first of course! - obviously this method needs some space to be left
under the rock when it is placed for the sound to radiate from.

OR, I drill a grid of holes in a suitable face of the "rock" -
angling the
drill bit so that the holes face downwards so rain won't run up them, and
mount the speaker inside so the grille faces these holes. Mounting should
be
pretty easy with some metal brackets.... The rock is then placed so that
the
holes are invisible  - IE the speakers fire away from the listening
position...

Sound feasible? - remember we're not after BBC1 Roadshow outside broadcast
quality here! - it's just for listening to MP3's in the garden whilst
getting very drunk!
