Re: Pronto is in stock at 150 at RS in West End (London)

Yes, this *** is *** most certainly time limited (well it is for me
anyway...)

Reasons:
1. I don't make anything selling at this price. No one's here to make
nothing, so at that price, if it continues I would honestly PULL OUT of
selling Prontos.
2. I would imagine that RS are making a loss at that price, with their
overheads, so they can't continue to do that for too long. I guess it's
just
a loss leader for them. They can't get a better deal than me, so it's the
only answer.
3. Philips will not be at all happy at that pricing level, as they must
think about their whole network of resellers and dealers, who will get hurt
by this practice.
4. I must bear in mind my EXISTING customers. If I were them I would be
unhappy with all of this. I can only tell them that I am too, and refer
back
to point No 1 above.

Obviously competition is good for the consumer - he/she gets a better deal
-
but it isn't any good if it puts people out of business (that will NOT
happen to me, but you get the general idea)

<rank over>

:-)
