DVD RomDrives and Film data copy?

Hi,

Has anyone got a DVD Rom drive on their system? And a film or two? I was=
just wondering how the data for the film was actually stored on the=
disk.... I was hoping to engineer some sort of VOD system (Video on=
demand) over my home network so each person could select a film and watch=
it in their own room. I've looked at www.bitcasting.com and they seem to=
have some streaming solutions but rather than play the DVD and capture it=
I'd rather copy the data direct if possible... any clues anyone (aside=
from the possible legal implications...)

Andy
