We have a 300W halogen up-lighter which runs for most of the evening at
75% brightness, only occasionally at full brightness, and if we watch TV
then it runs so it is barely emitting any light. The point of mentioning
this is that it's been running on the same filament since new (about 3
years ago). I've heard before that tungsten doesn't recondense properly
when run dimmed but running ours only occassionaly on full power seems
to be working OK.
