I had thought of spikes, which "technically" should be the
preferred option
for increased isolation... however, the last several years with LOADS of
black boxes stacked into this this thing has taught me one thing: ACCESS,
ACCESS, ACCESS!!! - I am usually wanting to get round the back to
"fiddle"
with the cabling every couple of months or so... (uprating the cables,
adding new black boxes, and so on...) and I have found that the best thing
about the unit I use currently has been the ease of access provided by
having the lot on sturdy castors.
(Unfortunately, not sturdy enough though, as two of them have now broken
under the weight!!).
I wouldn't like to even contemplate having to try to pull the fully-laden
unit out to gain access to the rear of it, if it were on spikes!!!!
Regards.
Paul Gordon.
