Hi Andy,

I'd be interested in any further clues on where to find suitable docs on
using
WIN API and Winsock for the remote shutdown.

As for my code it's in pieces (again!!) but if you want I'll e-mail it
direct to you
It's all VB no C code in there.
I'm also trying to sus out how to get it to take commands externally such
as
from http (??) my preferred option is Voice commands across the Internet,
that would be pretty cool. I've played around with MS Agent and that
appears
to be able to do it (slight cheat) it actually is only the client doing the
voice
recognition and then passing the appropriate codes to a server app to
translate.

Oh well I'll see if I can get any further rewriting some of the
Configuration module.

Very interesting stuff...

And i really like this - what voice recognition software are you using?

You could use the win API function... if the remote pc was running a small
server application in the systray for example. You could use the winsock
component - that would do it.. and fairly easil too...

ALL your code sound interesting - particularly the X10 stuff. Is it all VB
or is there some C in there too?

Maybe we could swap a little code here....

Andy...
