That reminds me- it's also good practice to seal the ends of cable left on
the reel, or which will not be terminated, to reduce changes in impedance
caused by hygroscopic insulation soaking up moisture. I can't see how that
would apply to cat-5 - it's especially co-ax, and audio type cables, which
you may be pulling as well (though with Keith's A/V on UTP system, you
mightn't need any except for TV UHF connections!)
