Re: VGA to TV converters

Andy,

Marks comments that the vga on TV are not entirely unfounded but I am using
an
ATI Rage graphics card in my PC which also offers S-VHS and Composite
outputs
as well as standard SVGA modes.

This actually provides me with a particularly good picture (better than I
was
expecting) in 800x600 and 640x480 is very good. It also allows you to
freeze
the sync rate etc so you can get a particularly stable picture.

However (theres always a down side isnt there...), When you are running the
TV
as well the picture on your monitor will become squashed so a variable sync
rate monitor is required. Also its not so easy to switch between TV and
monitor except through the display properties.

Its good and it was pretty cheap from a local computer fair but you might
be
better off with an external box.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Cheers
Kieran
