Ok, here's the low-down of my top-secret project ;-)

I fell in love with the Epods when I saw them, but being the poor underpaid
engineer I am, I thought what if I could make something similar?

Luck smiled my way as I had an old IBM ThinkPad 370C lying about which was
old and damaged on the hinges (couldn't open/close it anymore), but still
functioning fine (even running Windows 98).

So I thought, what if I get myself one of these:

and fit
the components (i.e. cpu, floppy, etc) inside, and put the display on the
outside; voila, a tablet pc.

Surprisingly enough, the laptop's internals are dead-easy to handle, and it
consists of basically 2 self-contained units: the lcd display and the
processor unit. The connection between them are 2 (very) flat cables and 1
tiny power (I presume) cable.

The only problem I could foresee is controlling it as this laptop doesn't
have a touch-screen and buying an overlay would be a bit OTT. Then on one
of
the many overclocking sites I spotted an ad of someone selling a mouse
touchpad which caused a bright light to shine above my head. The solution
has been found!

So the finished product will be a tablet-pc hanging on the wall which is
controlled by the touchpad (i.e. there will be no keyboard).
