I have been thinking about a similar thing. The options available are as
follows:

1) Have multiple video cards but you will need the multi camera capture
software (Gotcha Multicam $400 compared to $70 for the single camera
version)
2) Use relays to supply power to only the camera you want to display. This
is the way that Comfort suggest
http://www.comfort.org.uk/products/rly01.html

The way I was planning on doing it was using a relay to switch the cameras
on and off. That way you only need a single copy of the capture software.
When the camera changes it will pick up the new picture as movement. The
only issue is that any masked off area will need to be consistent across
all the cameras.

My alternative is that I have a control module for plugging in up to 4 of
my homebase cameras. This opens up two more possibilities

A) My cameras are none PIR ones but I could trigger the pin on the plug
into the control unit to switch the cameras. Anyone know how the PIR ones
are wired up to the 6 pin plugs?
B) Use the manual camera select button on the control unit. I haven't
taken it apart yet to see if it is possible to operate the switch via a
relay or similar.

Hi all

Another blonde question for you all today :-)

I have 2 CCTV Cameras, and would like to capture the output from
these on my PC, I know there is lots of software that will allow me
to monitor the images, and capture the changes on the PC.

The bit I am trying to get my head around, is if I have 2 cameras
both providing composite video feeds do I need to have need a
seperate capture card for each camera? - and will windows support
these?

Thanks

Dan
