Isn't it funny the way things go....  I have this very problem with a beam break so I built a simple delay unit which runs around 1.5 seconds last night. Tonight I will make version 2 which is adjustable from no time at all to about ten seconds I think. If anyone is interested I can let Mark or someone have the circuit diagram for posting up.

Simon

I'm interested in the fact you are putting PIR's on to Port B of HV

I'm moving away from HV to Comfort for detection as I find if HV is running a macro it can miss contact closures

Are you finding any evidence of this ?

To answer all your q's

I'll post a picture in the next few days. Thanks for the offer John - I've got a camera myself.  At the moment time's against me.  We're wanting to move into the house in a few weeks, but there's a few months of work left!!! That's why I haven't been to see you recently :o(

I have about 15 PIRs in stock, and I'm ordering some more very soon - so there should be plenty to go round!!!!

BTW, I didn't want to come over on this newsgroup as someone who is trying to sell things.  I just wanted to share some info with you all, and if you wanted any PIRs, well I sell them and have them in stock.  Only thing is I gave Phil a 'special price' - I think I might have done them too cheap!!!  But what the heck, were all friends - £29.95 + VAT

Phil, have you any 'independent' comments on the PIR???

Also, my address:

These PIRs are excellent, however they're not the total answer to the 'holy grail' of true occupancy detection.  They will tell you if a room is occupied with (slightly) active person/people but I'm not sure if they would trigger if you fell asleep on the sofa watching TV - I think I'd be scared if I woke up cold and in the dark! :o)  They're probably as good as we're going to get as far as reliability/cost in the near future.

A while ago there was a thread about more sophisticated occupancy detection and detecting the number of people in a room.  Did anyone go any further and get it to work???

Regards

Simon
