if you have the static IPs... route it >:)
You can set up Windows RAS (NT/2K) to a null modem,
and
then patch the serial from the set top box to the server direct - and using
NAT, use your existing connection.

Cant you use a db9 <>
rj45
connector (one at both ends) and make a null modem cable... then
simulate a
dialup on the other side? Then you'd have your machine connecting at
port-speed to your lan? I think slowly, everyone on IRC is deciding to
get
these things, heheh. :)
