CAT5 to run outside

A couple of questions...
I need to run some CAT5 to my garage at the bottom of the garden (a
50m+ outside run (x4) along the garden wall). What grade of cable
should I use for this? I was planning to use standard UTP, but for an
outside run would I be better off with STP? I'm hoping to avoid
encasing it. Are there exterior grades available (from where and at
what sort of premium)?
Also, this cable needs to be joined to some cable tails currently
residing in a wall box at the back of the house. What is recommended
to join CAT5 cables - are there suppliers of 8way krone blocks for
instance? I could with a fair amount more difficulty run cables all
the way to my patch panel but they would be virtually impossible to
hide on the outside walls, so not preferred.
Any solutions?
Thanks
Nick
