Compaq IPAQ prices/advice

I have been offered through my work an option on a Compaq IPAQ H3630
for 280GBP. It is the 32Mb Ram, 16mb ROM model. Looking at
shopsmart.com this seems a good price, but it has been superseded by
a newer model IIRC. Is it worth me saving up for the newer one which
could be quite a while or is this model more than adequate?
I was planning to use it in the home through a wireless connection to
control the HA PC and possibly web browsing? Am I going down the
right path?
