Sadly they're targetted for their vulnerabilities, being so common.
There's an implicit defense in something less prevalent it seems to
me!!

Time and time again it seems to be Outlook that is the weakness
and cause of these email viruses/virii/whatever propagating.

Perhaps if Pegasus Mail had taken over the world it too would be
targetted. Still, I've yet to get hit by an email virus and for that I
credit Pegasus' lack of features like Outlook! Maybe one day I'll
have to revoke that statement though...

Yup, from DOS to Windows through its various versions.
