Re: [1/2 OT] LAN

This only works on a Win2000 machine. If you are using win98 for your gateway then use ICSConfig to set the port mapping. Available from here

Pedro,

On ICS machine do into the properties of your internet link (ie. modem), hit sharing tab, hit Settings, then Services tab, hit add, enter the name of the service (ie. HS) enter your desired port number (ie. 8080) then enter the internal ip of the machine running HS (hs should be running on port 8080 for this). If you want to run HS on port 80, then stop any web service on your ICS machine and change the numbers above to 80

Basically the traffic will go thus:

Internet->ICSMachine on port 8080->HS machine on port 8080

Drop me an off topic email if you need a better explanation.

LAN Games (in order of excellence ;-) ):

Counter Strike mod for Halflife (need a fair few lan players to make it fun)
Ghost Recon (good 1 player and lan co-op)
Unreal Tourney (great with any number of players, as you can add computer controlled bots)
Operation Flashpoint (good 1 player and lan co-op)

Regards,

Jules

Subject: [ukha_d] [1/2 OT] LAN

Hi all

I have just finished installing my home LAN and would like to try some multiplayer games over it.  I don't want to have to use the internet so any suggestions for good multiplayer games which can be played over a LAN would be great.....

Another thing:  I have ICS sharing enabled on one PC and am using Homeseer on the other (HA) PC; how do I connect to the web browser on the HA PC???  Fixed IP on the HA PC but dynamic on the other.

Cheers

Pedro de Oliveira
