On my (very long) wish list is a large-screen flat panel TV set.
However,
with plasma screens starting about £4,500 while video projectors
are now
appearing for about £1,500-£2,000, I thought it might be better
to look at
installing a projector instead. By the time we'll have recovered
>from
cost of the build and be able to afford one, they should have
halved in
price again.... (and we can claim it as a business expense as my
wife does
occasionally need to hire the things for her work).

But, we'd need to install the wiring during our build, to keep it
unobtrusive (and need to get it into the specifications and plans
now so the
builders can't charge extra later).

If we did fit a projector, I'd want to have it hanging in some
fashion from
the ceiling, out of the way, which would require putting the
wiring from
where the video and DVD (when we get that too) will be hidden up
through a
wall and along the ceiling. But, can anyone tell me where the
projector
would need to be positioned (in a section of the room with a 2.8
metre flat
wall for projecting on to and a depth of 4.8 metres - ceiling
height is more
than 2.5 metres), and what sort of cabling would I need to
install?

Regards,

dfx
