Title: RE: Fw: [ukha_d] Controlling wooden venetian blinds...

I was going to try to control vertical blinds with one of the motors that I had, part of a bulk purchase - same as Paul's, but after posting off all the others discovered that the one I had left was busted, on closer examination and having a play about the control cord turned out to be one of those metal types like for a sink plug, so just took the motor back.

The motor was a 'old' model Swish Autoglide, it would probably do your job, torque stop was controlled by crimping a bit onto the cord.  The unit could be adjusted to accommodate various sizes of cords.  From memory when powered up it opened or closed.

Now all you have to do is find some?  They Originally came from Homebase as a discontinued line.

I only know of a couple, - the Butler Add-a-motor, and the Swish Motor. I
have a couple of the Swish ones, (still packed) that I'm planning to use in
the next few months. I've never seen/used the Butler one, but I believe a
couple of people on this list do....
