I dont know if any of you have ever disassembled one of these cheap switch
boxes but I have opened up several 9wayD, 25wayD and KVM type switchboxes
and
there is no PCB in them. Just a whacking great rotary switch and the
sockets
all wired with individual wires, mostly if not all the same colour. The
wires
are all about 50% longer than needed and once soldered up, the whole
assembly
is twisted to make it nice and neat and ensure loads of crosstalk hence the
reason why the KVM ones cause ghosting at anything above VGA :-(

By all means try one, it may well do the trick. It certainly wont do any
damage
but dont be surprised if the results arent very good.

The easiest and cheapest method it just to repatch. ie unplug the cord from
one
and plug it in the other. Its what structured cabling was designed for :-)
