C'mon Keith. Give us a clue about how you're gonna do the IR :) I'm
holding off getting a separate IR solution for now, but I'm getting twitchy
:)

Quick question... I currently have a svideo KAT5 transmitter and receiver
pair. At some point, I'm thinking of upgrading to RGB + stereo audio
instead.

Is the best way ahead to get a custom-made RGB transmitter and receiver
pair
and use the first one purely for stereo audio? Or is there a better way?

The reason I ask is because some folks are about to come out with a 200
quid
RGB (and component) PC capture card. If it gets good reviews, I'm going to
sling my 2 svideo capture cards and use that instead.
