Wrong! It's software remote control of devices that was ORIGINALLY
developed for interfacing with Comfort, but has come a long way since.

Mike,
That's the Comfort PC software right?
I don't have comfort so no go.
Even if I had, Linn don't publish the spec of the signalling interface
they use so I have no idea how an RCU, which connects to a Line
Receiver, tells the Intersekt that it wants to listen to source X.
If you're talking about just 'tapping in' to the audio output from the
intersekt, no go either as I would not be able to tell which source was
being presented to the output I am 'listening' to, and thus would not
know which source to tell the KAT5 switch to switch to :(
cheers,
Tony

Tony
I'm sure this can be achieved by using ACE
I control my linn preamp with it
I'm sure you will be able to control the Kat5 switch with ACE
And ace should be able to listen to your Linn setup

Subject: RE: [KAT5] Re: Knekt KAT5?
Errr....mmmm... I'm not quite sure. Look (view as fixed font plz):
-------VIDEO-----------------
/ \
DVD --------AUDIO------ I ----ZONE1---- S ---ZONE1---- Kitchen
VIDEO ------AUDIO------ N ----ZONE2---- W ---ZONE2---- Lounge
Tuner ------AUDIO------ T " 3 I " 3 Bedroom
Radio ------AUDIO------ E " 4 T " 4 etc
Jukebox ----AUDIO------ R " 5 C " 5
SKY --------AUDIO------ S -----etc----- H etc
etc E
K
T
Ie, the video output of the DVD is connected to the
Bugger. Nope that won't work.
The audio from the DVD can be routed anywhere because say I select
intersekt zone 2, switch automatically routes that to zone2 - lounge.
But the video is plumbed into input 1 on the switch.
Pants.
There's probably a solution somewhere based on 2 switches, but I can't
be arsed ATM. Wait until I get the switch eh? :)
The question remains though: Do you think it will be possible to
program the switch such that a scart trigger on input 1 can cause it to
switch, say output 1, to display whatever is on input 1?
Outside my dumb ideas, this could be useful to auto switch your TV to
the CCTV input when someone is detected at the door - as long as the
CCTV will generate the required SCART signals..
I have several 'zones' already Linn'ed up, so I wanted to stick to a
single means of switching sources rather than having something for A
sources and something else for V sources.
Of course if the RCU's would interface to your switch, then I just ditch
the intersekt and away we go :-)
Or if I could turn back time, I would save myself a fortune by not
buying the Linn stuff & just wait for your switch to arrive :{
Cheers,
Tony
