Hi Tony,

I *think* I get it now....

You want to use the KAT5 switch so that you can have ANY of your AV sources
routed to <Room_Y> but in the event of Intersekt Zone_X being active
you
want to select a DEFAULT source for Room_Y taking the Audio from
<Input_X>
and Video from wherever the DVD was connected.

If you didnt want to select alternative Video sources then you might as
well
use vanilla KAT5 without the switcher.

I personally think you are over-complicating things as the KAT5 switcher
will be able to route everything by itself if you can find a way of sending
the commands to it. You could then keep the Intersekt as a high end Audio
system in the main AV location.

Keith

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking. ATM, I have intersekt piping DVD
audio around the house, Yamaha AC3 amp doing the duty for the video
signals & AC-3 audio, and by connecting the DVD to the video, I can
watch DVD in the bedroom on crappy RF.
I want to replace RF with KAT5.

I don't need to.
If I select DVD to play in the bedroom, then the intersekt will output
the DVD audio to the bedroom zone.
If I then decide to listen to the radio in the bedroom, it will output
the radio to the bedroom zone.
Either way, the input on your switch should be routed to what it knows
as the bedroom zone.
Each output zone on the intersekt would be connected to a different
input on the KAT5 switch.
It is the intersekt that will differentiate between the various audio
sources. The switch just needs to know that input 1 always goes to
output 1, input 2 to output 2 etc....

Or am I missing something here?

Cheers,

Tony
