Surely a better solution in your case would be to use the Linn setup for
all
your AUDIO sources eg CD, Tuner, MP3 etc with the VIDEO sources
(DVD,Tivo,Sky,ITVDigital etc) routed via KAT5. In the viewing rooms you
could feed the Video to the TV/Plasma/Projector etc and the audio from the
KAT5 receiver into one of the local inputs on the Direktor.

I apologise if my understanding of the Linn is incorrect but as I have
never
seen one, let alone played with one, my analysis is based totally upon the
Linn Website.

I am assuming that the Linn kit can learn any IR it needs to and send
whatever commands you wish. If it cant then you would need something like
Homevision to run a macro that sent the required commands upon receipt of a
more simple command.

Hope that helps

Keith

Subject: [KAT5] Re: Knekt KAT5?

Keith,

Any thoughts on this?
_Will_ it be possible to trigger the Kat5 switch to direct input X to
output Y when an audio signal is presented to input X?

cheers,

Tony.
