Hi Tony,

As Phil has pointed out, there is a high possibility of feedback with 2 way
IR.

What application do you have that needs 2 way IR ?

KAT5 could be built with 2 way IR but the reason for the data channel is
for
control of the switcher and for the switcher to control the KAT5 receiver.
The switcher will route the IR signals from the receiver to source device
that you are using.
