Dan,

Possible confusion of terms here? (Apologies if I've mis-understood and
you already knew this stuff - I do this quite ofen!)

- CAT5 is a cabling/wiring standard.

- KAT5 is a range of products that allow transmission of audio/video
(and, coming soon, IR) over CAT5 cables.

This list is really about the KAT5 products.

There's another list, ukha_d, also on Yahoo! Groups, which covers a
wider range of stuff about "Home Automation", much of which uses
CAT5
cabling. Over there you'll find people using CAT5 cables for normal PC
data, ISDN, analogue phones, KAT5, and IR...

Does anyone have any interesting or novel uses of KAT5? Anyone tried
using
the Cat5 for Rx/Tx of IR for example? Just looking for some new ideas
when
my house is soon flood wired :)
