Not at all ... I would have no need for piracy as I would be piping AV
round
the house therefore no need to copy DVDs to (spit) VHS. Crap format anyway
... there's a BetaCam edit deck at work that I have my eye on which is far
more suitable *AND* doesn't give a crap about MacroVision. It just records
it!
However for those people with rear projection TVs or video projectors it
could be worthwhile having the ability to strip MacroVision.
It is a fine line and in reality you *SHOULDN'T* strip it out (there are
plenty of third party boxes to do it) and for me it doesn't make too much
difference, my projector doesn't get upset by MacroVision as the video
scaler handles it properly.
To be quite honest my order of "desires" is IR return and then
the switcher
... not that I have any more than 1 source (DVD multiplayer) that I would
want to distribute at the moment!
