Hi Andrew.

Yes you would be guilty of "sort of non standard wiring" but KAT5
was not
intended for Multidrop. The multidrop capability is to overcome a
limitation
that exists unti the switcher is available. At that time you split the two
cables back onto two separate RJ45 sockets.

I cant see how you can physically get two cables into one plug !!!

In the states you can get RJ45 double adapters like the BT Double adapters
but I havent found a source here. Obviously that would be a better solution
as you dont need to reterminate any cables.
